Hello everyone, we’re glad to announce a pre-wedding party at the lovely Atlas Bowl in Trumansburg, NY. Atlas is a great little restaurant with fun, interesting food and plenty of vegan/gluten-free/whatever options. It’s also a fun little bowling alley and a pretty cool bar! So please come and join us, have a drink, have dinner, bowl. But most of all, you can all meet each other and make friends.

Here’s the scoop. We’ve got some tables reserved from 5:00-10:00 pm and two lanes for bowling. Anu and Greg will pay for the bowling, and you all will pay for your own food, drinks, etc. All you need to do is call Atlas at 607-387-3191 and make a reservation if you want to dine. Tell them you’re with our party and they will seat you in our area; we can seat up to 24 people at once. You don’t need a reservation if you’re just bowling, drinking at the bar, or just hanging out, so you only need to call if you want to order dinner.

The idea here is to replace the usual formal rehearsal dinner with something more casual and fun for everyone. What we really want is for all our family and friends to come together and get to know each other before the big day. So please try to come join us and throw some bowling balls around!

The Finger Lakes are a great vacation destination, and there are many vacation rentals available on vrbo.com.

Update March 30: We have added a lower-cost alternative to the hotel room block. We have set aside rooms at the Embassy Inn Motel for our guests. The rates are $100/night for queen or $115/night for two doubles. Call 607-272-3721 and speak with Navin to receive the discounted rate. These rates are for Thursday through Sunday that weekend.

Ithaca in the summer can be a surprisingly busy place, and a room can be hard to find at the last minute. To make it easier on our out of town guests, we have blocked 20 rooms at the Fairfield Inn & Suites Marriott in Ithaca, NY. Here’s the details on that:

• All rooms are $199/night. Mention the group name “Rangarajan/Delisle Wedding” when booking to get the special rate. (Please be understanding if the hotel staff has trouble spelling our names.)
• The rate applies for Thursday 7/28 check-in through Sunday 7/31 check-out. However, there is a two-night minimum stay and all guests are required to stay both Friday and Saturday nights.
• This reservation block is 10 queen/queen rooms and 10 king rooms.
• Reservations must be made no later than June 29, after that the hotel will unblock the rooms and the price will go back up to normal. Also, we expect all of these rooms will be booked by our guests. We will try to get more when these sell out, but please book early.

You can of course stay elsewhere; the Finger Lakes region is a great summer vacation destination and there are many rental houses and bed-and-breakkies in the area as well as hotels. If you have a good recommendation for a place to stay, please leave a comment below.

Anu Rangarajan and Greg Delisle will be getting married on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at The Good Life Farm and Finger Lakes Cider House near Ithaca, NY. Formal invitations are forthcoming. For now, you might want to find a place to stay. The end of July is peak tourist season for the Finger Lakes region, so please book lodging early. We would encourage you to plan a few extra days to enjoy a vacation in the area! There’s wine tasting, brewing, distilling, and all manner of mischief to be made. And of course the lakes, gorges, and natural beauty offer all sorts of outdoor activities.

Then figure out how you’re going to get here. If you need to fly, Ithaca has a small, regional airport (ITH). Other airports within an hour include Syracuse (SYR), Elmira (ELM), and Binghamton (BGM).
